Close to two months of code hell is almost done…

With the blessing of Monty (the author of CDParanoia) and Stefan (who created the OS X installer, based on Tobias Sargeant’s OS X port), and with some last minute code assistance from Doug (the reigning God of iTunes AppleScripts), Pillage is coming…VERY soon!

The BRAT CDParanoia Ripper for OS X has a new name: Pillage. CDParanoia style ripping for OS X is coming to your Mac, and it is worth the wait. To paraphrase The Hair Club for Men: I’m not only the creator, but I am also a user (note the image above for the amount of rips I have done so far, using Pillage).

I am doing some last minute bug fixes (damn CAPS LOCK), and starting the tutorial videos. I *hope* to get this online for everyone this week.

This is worth the wait. Go buy a few 1 TB hard drives now, in preparation!

“Splash Story” feature. Since many of the images have details that go beyond the obvious, I hacked together a bit of LightBox code. If you are interested (and, admit it - you are damn curious), simply click the “Click for the story behind the image…” text at the top right of any site page, and read comments about that splash. Fun.

LightBox. I am integrating LightBox features into the Blog. I will also be adding them to the revised Pictures area.

Pictures. The Photo Galleries will be back online shortly. Just working out which galleries to re-encode.

Mashups. A few new (to you) mashups will be hitting the site in the next few weeks, along with revisions of one or two older mashups.

BRAT CD Paranoia Ripper. I am finishing up the tutorial videos for the application. The program should be hitting the site very shortly. This will change the way you rip!

Blog design. I hacked the hell out of the WordPress template, to get the blog to look like the rest of the site. Only buggy item seems to be some o the Post Dates, but that is a Wordpress issue, and not my hacking.

Ok. Finger is throbbing (see below). Break time.

For the next week, I get to enjoy trying to code/moderate/edit with my fingers taped together.

Apparently, I have been working so hard that I sprained my left pointer finger. For the last few weeks, I have been having the pleasure of having increasing pain in my finger. I finally broke down last night (11pm), and went to CVS. The pharmacist on duty said I had a rather severe sprain. The remedy? Tie your fingers together.

Joy.

I was looking for a way to make my worker harder. Yay me. Found it!
