As mentioned on Volume 1 of this unusual album series, Freakbeat Records in Sherman Oaks, CA. has a ceremony of sorts. In the minutes leading up to the close of the shop, "closing" songs are played. "Hello Goodbye" by The Beatles, "Goodbye, Goodbye" by Oingo Boingo. You get the idea...
The last song, always, is "Closing Time" by Semisonic. They always played the song. It was starting to get a bit predictable, so I decided to whip the shop up a few new mashups of the song. The plan was that people would hear the mashups, and leave even quicker.
That plan failed. If anything, people stayed until the end of the mashup, then asked where they could get a copy.
Even with the variety of twelve songs to choose from, the selections get tired after a while. Therefore...Closing Time 2: Electric Boogaloo!
