DESCRIPTION:
For a few weeks, "Justified And Ancient" by The KLF was the number one song on the MARS FM Top Thirty countdown.

A week or two before The KLF hit number one, I had finished a KLF megamix I was working on. So when the countdown show aired, instead of just playing "Justified And Ancient", Swedish Egil played my megamix on the countdown show.

This is the full uncut megamix, remastered from the DAT master tape. As this was just before I started working with Macs (Sound Designer, Pro Tools, et cetera), this is one of the last "razor cut" tape mixes I did. Everything you hear in the mix was done live (one turntable, one CD player) to a DAT tape. I then recorded all the DAT tape bits to an open reel tape deck, physically cut the tape, then recorded the entire thing back to a DAT.

I was desperate for a Mac! Cutting tape is exhausting, especially when you do as many edits as I do in a mix! Just remember that. Every time you think you hear the mix change, stutter, or do something not normally in the song, that's me doing another edit. I hated cutting tape, but I was fucking good at it. #HumbleBrag
