Foreigner. They are not even a "guilty pleasure". I just love Foreigner.

When I did my criminally ignored mashup of "Waiting For A Girl Like You", I realized that not everyone would have the love of Foreigner that I do. Still, I did the (fucking great...I say with zero modesty) mashup, because I do these mixes for me. If other people like them, that's cool, but I am creating these mixes for my own enjoyment.

As you, dear reader, might have noticed, I'm slightly disappointed that the world was not swept away with the mashup. So why do a deconstruction?

Why the fuck not? It's my site. It's my time. It's for me to have fun with. With the last few years we have all been through, I don't know about you, but I fucking need something to do to keep my sanity.

Enter the classic Foreigner song "Cold As Ice".

When i first heard the mutitracks, I was blown away with the sheer amount of synth used on the track. I knew I had to bring that synth to the foreground. The other thing I noticed, which is near impossible to hear in the finished mix, is the fun the band had with the backing vocals. "Three blind mice"!?! Oh yeah...I'm isolating that!

When I do a mashup, I try to find a way to present songs that you may know, but in a new light. With these deconstructions, I simply love hearing parts of songs you normally can't hear in the released mix. Just like with the mashups, it freshens up a song. For me, at least, it's exciting to hear a song remixed, edited or otherwise altered in a new way.

Enjoy hearing Lou and the boys in a way you've never heard before.
