Origin:
DAT number 26.
DAT number 26 in my collection is a prized DAT tape. It started off being a collection of jingles from my days at MARS FM. Towards the end of the tape, in the mid-1990s, I would bring it with me when I'd hang out at KROQ. When time permitted, I would run into a production office with armfuls of broadcast carts (think old school "8-track tape", but a radio thing), and quickly dump them all to the DAT tape.
It only took 30 years, but I finally digitized (and cleaned) the DAT.
Quick explanation: An "ID", for those who don't know, is also referred to as "imaging". When you listen to a radio station, and a pre-recorded voice tells you the station or DJ info, that is an "ID" (station identification). My weird little passion over the years has been collecting as many IDs as I could. A great example of this is ID City, elsewhere on this website. OK, so back to this file...
So, for this portion of the tape, these are mainly IDs for the lovely Holly Adams (MARS FM DJ / cool human). I also have some of the generic MARS FM IDs on here, and this file ends with an ID I made for Swedish Egil. I made others for Egil and Holly, but they don't quite stand up to the test of time (I had cheap equipment at the time - sound is poor).
ID list:
As the signal for MARS FM was always poor, I guarantee that if you were a listener of the station, you never heard these IDs this clearly.
Enjoy!
