This is an old ass mix set I did with the following equipment:
• one CD player (no pitch control)
• one turntable (with pitch)
• an antique two track open reel tape deck (read that again - two tracks! All blends on the mix are done live)
• high quality blank Ampex 456 1/4" open reel tape (I spent the money, and you can hear the difference) :)
• a LOT of splicing
For being done on crude equipment, and me being only 22 at the time, it ain't that bad. :)
This is a straight pass from the original open reel. All razor edits (and there are a LOT of them) are circa 1992. All blends are true to the time. I'm still surprised that I pulled off such a complex mix with the equipment listed above. It's a cool mix. I just don't quite understand why I only did 16 minutes of it. Oh well...enjoy!
