DESCRIPTION:
It's Summertime. Summertime, 2024. Technology has finally caught up with an idea I had nearly 30 years ago.

I absolutely adore Sam Cooke. No autotune. No faking it. Just pure soul. Hearing him singing acapella nearly brings me to tears. So it was very important to me to pick a song that would complement Mr. Cooke. I didn't want shock value, or just to "throw a beat" down on Mr. Cooke. I wanted the two songs to feel like they were meant together.

Thinking back to when I originally heard the Sublime track on KROQ, I always wondered what Sam Cooke would sound like over it. Sadly, pulling an acapella from a master recording was not as easy as it is now. So, my idea had to wait...

...until now!

If you are new to my mashups, what you are about to listen to is yet another mix of mine that defies genres. I believe that different genres of music can (and should) be mixed together. You can create fresh, new pieces of music when you mix two different genres together. If you do it right, you expose people to new things. So, what's wrong with that?
