I have a bad habit. Well, it's a good thing, but not good timing. Let me back up...

I have a LOT of digital files on my computer. I am always in a losing battle to properly organize all of the files. Work files...those get sorted and backed up properly onto multiple drives. My personal stuff? It gets backed up, but it's always just thrown into quickie desk-cleaning folders.

Lately, I have been trying to tend to my personal files, and get everything clean. However, when I get to the multitracks / stems / acapellas, I almost always get distracted by mix ideas.

Welcome to the latest distraction. Good for you. A small time setback for me.

I have always been a Foreigner fan. I have always loved "Waiting For A Girl Like You". When I came into possession of the multitracks, I nearly died. Clean as hell vocals, and oh those pretty synths.

While looking to find a suitable instrumental in the ol' iTunes library, I came across the Pretty Lights track. It is extremely rare to have an acapella fit so well over an instrumental without any sort of fuss. It is especially rare to go from "ooh, that sounds cool" to "Damn, I finished it already" in a very short timespan. A good mashup can take up to four hours. I knocked this one out of the park in under 90 minutes!
