Just as Pharrell's mind was blown, so was mine. I mean, c'mon. I'm the mashup guy. I'm the weirdo that hears the same song everyone else hears, but then hears other songs at the same time. If Dave Grohl had never said that, I doubt that I would have ever noticed.

But Dave Grohl said that.

And I noticed.

Internet, you can blame Dave Grohl directly for this mashup.

Taking the vocals, guitar and (eventually) drums from the Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and putting them over a highly re-edited Album Version of The Gap Band's "Burn Rubber On Me" was not as easy I would have hoped, but I did it. And it kicks fucking ass!

Eagle-eyed video viewers will also spot some snippets from the Weird Al Yankovic music video "Smells Like Nirvana". I mean...I HAD to put Dick Van Patten in this video!

"Mashups are dead." "No one cares about mashups anymore." Fuck that. I have done these things since 1990 (before they had a name, other than a "blend", or "those weird mixes Daniel does for KROQ and MARS FM"). It's 2022. Not even a pandemic is stopping me! :)
