DESCRIPTION:
I don't care if Monday's black. Tuesday, Wednesday, heart attack. Thursday, never looking back. It's Friday, I'm in quarantine.

A distraction from watching days melt into each other came to me in the form of Barry White multitracks. Lately, I've been having fun doing what I call Deconstructions. Unlike some of my fellow remixers, instead of doing dance versions of songs, I'm enjoying stripping away elements. Hearing minimal tracks is refreshing. I was going to start doing that with the Barry White tracks, but then my brain started messing with me. In a way that only my brain seems to work, I kept hearing The Cure's "Friday, I'm In Love" within the strings. Cue the mashup...

In what amounts to a first for me, I also shot / directed / edited an original music video to go with the mashup. Watch the lead character, played by the lovely Nora Cubas, race down the streets of Burbank, Toluca Lake and Hollywood, in a quest to get to their "love". Try to ignore the few camera shakes. I was laughing too hard while shooting. Also, to everyone who was cheering, shouting, honking and filming during the outdoor shoot, I hope this scene brought you a momentary smile.

With the world climate, we all desperately need a moment to smile. Hopefully this mashup does that for you. Then you can get back to fighting the good fight...or curling up in a fetal position, eating your fourth container of ice cream today. You do you.
