DESCRIPTION:
November 30th, 2001. I went with a friend to see Goldfrapp performing at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. As I sat down at the bar, the opening act was starting up. While eating my french fries, I started hearing this glorious sound. I left the fries on the counter, went into the performance area, and had my mind blown by Elbow (the opening act). I have been a huge fan of the band ever since. Don't know Elbow? Stop reading this, devour their catalog on Spotify, then come back here.

Who am I also a big fan of? George Michael. Ignore the scandals. Ignore the bad press. That man had a beautiful voice, and made some truly great music.

When the acapella for "Careless Whisper" landed in my lap(top), I was going to do one of my Deconstruction mixes, because I didn't think I'd find anything that would mash with Mr. Michael. After about ten minutes of searching through my iTunes vault, I was proven wrong.

You may not agree with me, but I put this up there with my Eagles/Lamb and Cure/Commodores mashups. It sounds fucking lovely.

And because it "had" to go in the mix somewhere, I threw the sax-a-ma-phone in at the end. :)
